A surprising addition arrived for new head coach Steve Sarkisian and the 2022 Texas football recruiting class on the afternoon of July 14 in the form of the four-star Denton-Ryan safety Austin Jordan. Texas landed the commitment of the in-state product Jordan this week when he looked destined to wind up with head coach Lincoln Riley and the rival Oklahoma Sooners.
Most indications pointed to Sark and the Longhorns falling behind the Sooners in pursuit of Jordan’s commitment in the past couple of months.
