A crucial day on the trail for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class arrived on June 15. Head coach Tom Herman and recently hired defensive coordinator Chris Ash were able to celebrate the additions of two highly touted four-star defensive back commits that announced their decision in the same video posted on social media. The two four-star defensive backs that the Longhorns added on June 15 were Kimball cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem and Kennedale safety JD Coffey III.
Landing those two commits in the 2021 class boosted the Longhorns back into the top 10 of the national class rankings (per 247Sports Team Composite Rankings).
