Breakthroughs for the 2021 and 2022 Texas football recruiting classes continue to take hold in the thick of the 2020 offseason. After Texas landed in the top three finalist schools for 2022 Klein Cain running backs Jaydon Blue, the 2021 recruiting class received some good news. Blue put Texas in his top three finalist schools, which also included former head coach Mack Brown and the North Carolina Tar Heels and the defending National Champion LSU Tigers.
This time around, the key target for the Texas Longhorns football program in either the 2021 or 2022 recruiting class that included them among the finalist schools was four-star Louisiana native safety Kaine Williams.
