The 2020 Texas football recruiting class suffered yet another big miss on the defensive side of the ball with a key high school prospect that the coaching staff tried to prioritize. This time, it was four-star Arlington High School rising senior cornerback Jahari Rodgers who picked the Florida Gators on July 15 over the 2020 Texas football recruiting class.
In the final days leading up to the pledge decision from Rodgers, Florida started to trend far in the direction to win over his interests. Head coach Dan Mullen wound up getting Rodgers to commit to play for the Gators over head Texas football coach Tom Herman.
