The highly awaited season opener for Texas football arrived for a neutral site affair against the Maryland Terrapins on Sep. 1. This time while facing the Terps, the Longhorns battle them at FedEx Field in Landover, MD. Last season was a rough start to the 2017 campaign for Texas, with a 51-41 home loss against Maryland on the Forty Acres.
This season did not get off to the start that the Horns were looking for. Outside of a miraculous 39-yard catch from junior wide receiver Devin Duvernay, Texas did not get much going early in the first half.
