An up and down journey in the career of a former highly touted Texas football player took a jump for the better this offseason. Former Texas football wide receiver DeAndre McNeal will reportedly be transferring to link up with head coach Sonny Dykes and the SMU Mustangs. This comes after his career with the Texas Longhorns football program ceased due to a suspension and off-the-field troubles.
McNeal also played with the polarizing head coach Lane Kiffin and the Florida Atlantic Owls for a bit. He played two seasons with Florida Atlantic before this latest transfer to SMU back into the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
