Texas football has gone a long time since winning its last conference championship. Even since the Big 12 split apart with the conference realignment that happened back previous to the 2011 season, the Longhorns haven’t won a Big 12 Championship. Texas was very close to claiming a share of the Big 12 Championship in 2013 under former quarterback Case McCoy. That’s the closest the Horns have come to winning a Big 12 Championship in the last five seasons.
Now, Texas is once again among the favorites to compete for a spot in a Big 12 Championship Game entering the 2018 campaign.
