Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian landed their “must-get” recruit in the 2024 class on Aug. 10. The elite five-star Duncanville edge rusher Colin Simmons committed to Texas over the LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, and SMU Mustangs when he announced his decision at Duncanville High School.
Simmons’ commitment will have a huge impact on Texas both on the recruiting trail and on the field upon leaving the Big 12 for the SEC in 2024. Simmons will be an immediate impact starter at edge rusher for the Longhorns next fall. And his commitment to Texas will generate a ton of momentum on the recruiting trail for this staff in the 2024 and 2025 classes heading into the fall.
