The New Year has arrived for the Texas football program and with it came quite the start to 2019. Texas football took part in the final bowl game before the College Football Playoff National Championship Game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers on Jan. 7. Clemson gave Alabama a shellacking in the national title game too.
However, that final FBS postseason game that Texas football competed in before the College Football Playoff National Championship was the Allstate Sugar Bowl against the Georgia Bulldogs. Texas football controlled the Sugar Bowl through and through and gained a 28-21 victory that was more lopsided than the final score indicates.
