The Texas football program got the best of the No. 11 ranked Utah Utes in a dominant effort in the Alamo Bowl. Head Texas football coach Tom Herman stayed undefeated during his tenure at Texas in bowl season, now 3-0. This was maybe the most impressive win that Texas had over a legit top-15 opponent under Herman’s direction in three tries.
Utah came into this game as around a one-touchdown favorite over Texas. Coming off their rough 37-15 loss in the PAC-12 Championship Game at the hands of the Oregon Ducks, head coach Kyle Whittingham and his Utes were looking for a solid bounce back effort.
