According to a report from 247Sports, junior Texas football starting quarterback Sam Ehlinger put in a request for feedback from the College Advisory Committee for his status in the 2020 NFL Draft on Dec. 29. Ehlinger was presumed to be a near-guaranteed member of the 2021 NFL Draft quarterback class, but he is at least eligible to declare early in 2020.
If Ehlinger does decide to declare early for the 2020 NFL Draft, it would be one of the biggest surprises out of any declaration by a junior in the Big 12 this year. Ehlinger seemed as a near lock to return to the Forty Acres, to try and finally win a Big 12 Championship for head Texas football coach Tom Herman, during his senior season.
