It looks like a long time before the Texas football program will ever get to play the in-state rival Texas A&M Aggies in the Lone Star Showdown again soon. Unless the two teams meet in a bowl game or the College Football Playoff, then the Lone Star Showdown is going to go dormant for a while. That’s a shame because Texas and Texas A&M have been so close in the win column at times since the latter split from the Big 12 to join the SEC West.
This coming season, both Texas and Texas A&M are likely going to be close to each other in the preseason polls.
