The Texas football program has some unforeseen work to do the recruiting trail with the recent decommitment of four-star Missouri native athlete Mookie Cooper. Texas football does still hold a top 25 2020 recruiting class in the nation despite the decommitment from Cooper. But, the coaching staff needs to get on this before the 2020 class falls too far behind in the Big 12 and national rankings.
A good place for head Texas football coach Tom Herman to turn to now is four-star in-state defensive tackle prospect Vernon Broughton. Since Herman and the 2020 Texas football recruiting class doesn’t have a single commit yet on the defensive side of the ball, they have to start somewhere.
