The NCAA Transfer Portal struck early and often to the detriment of the Texas football program. Some of these transfer announcements were expected and some completely caught the Texas football fan base by surprise. For instance, the Texas football transfer intentions that dropped from sophomore running back Toneil Carter, freshman defensive lineman Mike Williams, and freshman quarterback Casey Thompson, weren’t too surprising.
However, the transfer intentions of junior running back Kyle Porter and freshman quarterback Cameron Rising were a bit more shocking. How much time Porter missed this year that seemed like him taking personal time was a good indicator that he might be on his way out.
