A blip in the road of late for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class late in the month of May and early in June could be quickly smoothed out. Head coach Tom Herman has the opportunity to land to key prospects for his 2021 recruiting class in the near future, with two highly touted defensive backs set to announce their commitment decision on June 16. Those two defensive back targets are four-star Kennedale safety JD Coffey III and four-star Kimball cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem.
If Herman lands those two commitments, Texas will re-establish themselves as the clear top ranked 2021 class in the Big 12.
