In the 2020 NFL Draft, the players coming out of the Texas football program are hoping for more fortunate results for this class than last year’s. Texas saw just two former players selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, which was one of the worst results in this event in the history of the program. Even the first Texas Ex wouldn’t fall off draft boards until the fifth round, when the Houston Texans selected defensive end Charles Omenihu.
The only other Texas Ex selected in the 2019 NFL Draft was cornerback Kris Boyd, in the seventh round to the Minnesota Vikings.
