On the afternoon of Aug. 28, the 2021 college football season kicked off and there are two former Texas football players of note in action this weekend. One is one of the more under-the-radar Texas Exes that took his talents elsewhere this year in the UTEP Miners junior defensive lineman Troy Torres.
Torres is a former walk-on that joined the Longhorns in the fall of 2018. He never took any actual game reps with the Longhorns, but it is worth noting that he is in action with UTEP in taking on the New Mexico State Aggies on Aug.
