After a miraculous Game One victory of the Championship Series at the 2025 Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, the No. 6 Texas Longhorns dropped Game Two 4-3 against the No. 12 Texas Tech Red Raiders to set up a decisive final game for the national title.
Enough hitting and clutch pitching from Texas Tech star pitcher NiJaree Canady combined with uncharacteristic defensive miscues late in the game from Texas propelled the Red Raiders past the Longhorns.
Canady proved to be an escape artist on Thursday. The ace from Topeka, Kansas was more hittable than usual, but managed to work around runners in nearly every inning.
