Texas F Jaxson Hayes suffered no structural damage to left knee, diagnosed with bone bruise

Following an MRI and meeting with multiple specialists, it has been determined that the left knee injury that forced Texas Longhorns forward Jaxson Hayes to the floor and out of action in the final minutes of Texas’ Big 12 Tournament loss to Kansas is merely a bone bruise, and that there is no structural damage.

“After consulting with multiple specialists, it has been determined that there is no structural damage in the left knee of University of Texas freshman forward Jaxson Hayes,” the school said in a statement. “He has a bone bruise in his left knee, and we are expecting him to make a full recovery in a matter of weeks.
