Texas coaches discuss Jalen Green’s targeting penalty

Against the Kansas State Wildcats last Saturday, Texas Longhorns sophomore cornerback Jalen Green was ejected for targeting, resulting in a first-half suspension for the road trip to face the Iowa State Cyclones this weekend, sparking an apology from Green released on Wednesday through the school.

With Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman on record that he believes Green should face further punishment beyond the mandated suspension, Texas coaches were asked about the play this week.

“He’s apologetic, feels really bad about it,” defensive coordinator Todd Orlando said on Wednesday.
