The 2019/20 Texas basketball kicks off their season Tuesday night when the Bears of Northern Colorado travel to the Frank Erwin Center. Preceding the 7 PM local time tip, the 2019 NIT champion banner will be unveiled in the rafters, though, this team has completely left that memory in the rear view.
Northern Colorado is no basketball powerhouse, but the Texas Longhorns basketball program has lost eight contests to mid-major programs over Shaka Smart’s tenure. Led by fourth year head coach Jeff Linder, the Bears finished with a 21-11 (15-5) record last season, good for second in the Big Sky.
