Much of predicting how the Big 12 will shake out during regular season in basketball is an afterthought at this point with the level of dominance coming from the Kansas Jayhawks. Since the Jayhawks’ current head basketball coach in Bill Self took over, its brought back 14 straight Big 12 regular season titles to Lawrence, KS. That leaves Texas basketball once again in an underdog role for the upcoming regular season.
Last season, Texas was a strong force in an ever tough Big 12 group that competed among the best conferences in the nation, if not the best overall.
