On the night of Jan. 16, No. 4 ranked Texas basketball responded in strong fashion to a tough loss at the hands of the No. 15 ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders from earlier in the week. Head coach Shaka Smart and his Texas team responded to the loss to Texas Tech by upended the struggling Kansas State Wildcats at home at the Frank Erwin Center, by the final score of 82-67.
This was exactly the right timing for Smart and the Longhorns to get the bottom two teams in the Big 12 standings during the conference slate.
