Adding floor spacers was a primary task for new full-time head coach Rodney Terry and the Texas basketball coaching staff in the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. Texas has more floor spacing on the projected roster heading into the 2023-24 season than we’ve seen from the men’s hoops program in over a decade.
This amount of floor spacing on the projected roster for next season addresses an issue the Longhorns faced on the hardwood in the last few campaigns. Texas wasn’t one of the best shooting teams in the Big 12 in a long time.

And while Texas showed signs of life last season regarding the ability to space the floor, especially in the backcourt and wing rotations, that squad was still mediocre in the grand scheme of things.
