One of the hottest college baseball teams in the nation coming out of a big weekend of tournaments and non-conference showdowns was the Texas baseball program. In a huge series against the No. 2 LSU Tigers hosted on the Forty Acres at the Disch, Texas baseball emerged victorious in all three games.
A series sweep over LSU put Texas baseball on the map as a top 15 team in the nation despite two early season disappointing losses prior to those three wins. And, the final win over LSU came in very exciting fashion with a walk-off single from Austin Todd to provide the 7-6 final score.
