Two years after one of the best coaches in NFL history served as the keynote speaker as the Texas Coaches Clinic, the Longhorns announced on Thursday that Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay will fill that role this year:
In regards to the clinic, which runs from April 5-6 this year, landing McVay as the keynote speaker represents another coup for a staff which places a tremendous emphasis on maintaining high-level relationships with Texas high school football coaches. And this event is one of the most significant in terms of giving back.
Even beyond the state lines, the presence of McVay could also help lure coaches from across the country, as McVay’s offense, which is simple but looks complex, has already helped change conventional thinking at the NFL level.
