Steve Sarkisian expects Texas WR Jordan Whittington to miss remainder of regular season

The clavicle injury that Texas Longhorns junior wide receiver Jordan Whittington suffered against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Cotton Bowl last week is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the regular season.

When Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian revealed on Monday that the injury requires surgery, he didn’t have a timetable for Whittington’s return. During Sarkisian’s Thursday media availability, he provided some more clarity on when the 6’1, 203-pounder may see the field again.

“It’d be great to get him back, whether it’s a possible Big 12 Championship or bowl game, I know he wants to work back — I just saw him, so he looks good, but it’s a bone [injury] and we’ve got to see how that heals, see how long that takes,” Sarkisian said.
