Scottsdale (Az.) Notre Dame Preparatory wide receiver Jake Smith arrived on the Forty Acres over the weekend for his official visit, and headed back home to Arizona as a Texas Longhorns commit, he announced on Sunday.
A prized pass catcher with 32 offers, Smith was also considering a variety of other programs, including Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Texas A&M, but on May 7, Smith trimmed his recruitment to just two finalists — Texas and USC.
Shortly after announcing his final two schools, Smith booked official visits to USC for May 18, with Texas getting the final say on June 1.
