ANTRIM, Northern Ireland — Former University of Texas star Scottie Scheffler carded a 3-under-par 68 on Sunday afternoon to post a four-stroke victory at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club. Scheffler recorded his second major win of the year and fourth career major title, as he previously claimed wins at the Masters in 2022 and 2024 and the 2025 PGA Championship.
Former University of Texas men's golfers have now recorded a total of 12 Major championship victories. Scheffler is the third former Longhorn to win The Open Championship, joining Justin Leonard (1997) and Jordan Spieth (2017).
