Sanborn named to Ray Guy Award watch list

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Texas punter Ryan Sanborn was named to the Ray Guy Award watch list, the August Sports Council announced on Wednesday. It is the third-straight year in which Sanborn has been named to the preseason watch list for the award that annually honors college football's top punter.

Sanborn, a graduate transfer from Stanford, appeared in 42 games over four seasons with the Cardinal, punting 192 times for 7,980 yards (41.6 ypp) with a long 68 yards, 37 of 50-plus yards, and 64 downed inside the 20. A San Diego native, Sanborn was a two-time All-Pac 12 honorable mention selection (2020, 2022).
