EUGENE, Ore. – Tripp Piperi was crowned the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field shot put champion for the second time in his career on Wednesday night.
The national title was secured after just one throw for Piperi on Hayward Field. His throw of 21.52m (70-7.25) on his first attempt earned the nine-time All-American his second individual NCAA title of his career after winning his first on his home track in 2018. The throw is also tied with his third-best mark in Texas history and holds four of the top-five throws in Texas history.
