LUBBOCK, Texas – Tripp Piperi and Kristine Blazevica were both named Big 12 Outdoor Champions on the second day of the conference meet.
Piperi claimed his ninth Big 12 Championship shot put title on Saturday with a throw of 21.28m (69-9.75). It's the ninth-straight meet Piperi has thrown over 21 meters. Jalil Brewer finished second with a throw of 19.12m (62-8.75), while Patrick Piperi finished seventh at 18.14m (59-6.25). The Longhorns added 20 points in the event.
Blazevica defended her 2021 heptathlon title by breaking into the 6,000 point club with a personal-best score of 6,064 points.
