AUSTIN, Texas – Texas sophomore Bridget O'Neil won the 1-meter diving event Friday night at the UT Diving Invitational at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
O'Neil finished the prelims in sixth-place with 280.50, but put on an incredible performance in the finals to give Texas its first event win of the weekend. The Southlake, Texas, native edged out Arizona's Delaney Schnell by .75 points to claim the event, finishing with 327.50 points.
Freshman Hailey Hernandez recorded her second top-3 finish of the weekend, finishing third and just 1.
