Once-promising Texas football RB abruptly leaves program out of nowhere

While plenty of Texas football fans must still be riding high following the Red River Rivalry win over the Oklahoma Sooners, it's not all good news for head man Steve Sarkisian. On Tuesday, it has been reported that a former elite running back signee is leaving the program.

According to reporters Justin Wells and Eric Nahlin, speedster Jerrick Gibson is no longer with the team. Gibson originally signed as a member of the 2024 class, picking the Longhorns over 22 other offers. However, he was buried on the depth chart a bit and he's now going to be looking for more playing time with a different school:
