The Longhorns were able to upset a surging, undefeated Oklahoma team by a score of 23 to 6 at the Cotton Bowl in week 7. Aside from an exciting win over their biggest rivals, fans were also finally able to see what this Texas team could look like with a competent offensive performance.
After a slow start on offense filled with what felt like nothing but screen passes in the first quarter, Arch Manning and Co. began to look more comfortable and effective as the game wore on. On the defensive side of the ball, the Longhorns were able to completely shut down a high-powered offense led by one of the nation's top up-and-coming offensive coordinators in Ben Arbuckle.
