No. 9 Baseball drops CWS opener to Notre Dame

OMAHA, Neb. – No. 9 Texas Baseball dropped the opener of the College World Series to Notre Dame, 7-3 on Friday night at Charles Schwab Field. The Longhorns (47-21) will now face No. 5 Texas A&M in an elimination game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Pete Hansen started and pitched 4 1/3 innings but was tagged for six runs on nine hits. Notre Dame scored runs in four of the first five frames off of Hansen.

Tristan Stevens pitched well out of the bullpen, logging 4 2/3 innings and allowing just one run on two hits.
