Austin, Texas – The No. 8 Texas Men's Tennis team took its ITA Kickoff Weekend opener against Washington with a 4-0 sweep at the Texas Tennis Center on Friday. With the win, the Longhorns moved to 3-0 this season and advanced to Saturday's championship match against Miami (Fla.), which defeated Utah State, 4-2.
Texas opened the match by earning the doubles point with a pair of 6-3 wins as junior Yuya Ito and freshman Chih Chi Huang defeated Kawika Lam and Kasper Smith, while seniors Colin Markes and Leonardo Telles topped Ewen Lumsden and Enzo Sommer.
