AMES, Iowa – With temperatures hovering in the low 50's and winds gusting as high as 20 mph on Friday evening at the Cyclone Sports Complex, No. 7/8 Texas softball (29-3, 4-0 Big 12 Conference) blasted three HR's while battling past Iowa State (23-12, 0-7 Big 12 Conference) in the two teams' league series opener, 8-5.

- With the win, Texas head coach Mike White improved his record with the Longhorns to 99-23. He needs just one more victory to reach the 100-win plateau on the Forty Acres.
- With three HR's in the opener against Iowa State, Texas has now hit multiple HR's in a game on 15 separate occasions this season.
