No. 7 Men’s Golf’s Coody becomes world’s top-ranked amateur

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Men's Golf junior Pierceson Coody ascended to the No. 1 spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) for the first time in his career on Wednesday. He is the first Longhorn to hold the top spot as the world's best amateur golfer since Cole Hammer in 2019.

Coody, a Plano, Texas native, is a two-time All-American (2019 honorable mention; 2020 first team) for the Longhorns and champion of the 118th Western Amateur last August. During his collegiate career, he has recorded 43 rounds at par or better, and helped UT finish runner-up at the 2019 NCAA Championships.
