No. 7 Football’s Hill named semifinalist for Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award

PHILADELPHIA – Texas true freshman linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. has been named a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award, the Maxwell Club announced on Wednesday. Hill is the third Longhorn to be named a semifinalist for the award, joining teammates Xavier Worthy, who was a finalist in 2021, and Kelvin Banks Jr., who was a semifinalist in 2022.

Hill has played in all eight games this season and made his first career start in the Longhorns' 35-6 victory over BYU on Saturday. For the year, the Denton, Texas native has totaled 35 tackles (22 solo), five tackles for loss, three sacks, two pass breakups and three quarterback hurries.
