AUSTIN, Texas – No. 6 Texas Baseball defeated Texas State, 4-1, on Tuesday night at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The Longhorns collected five hits and drew seven walks in the win.
Cole Quintanilla (4-0) picked up the win in relief, striking out three of the six batters he faced in two shutout innings of work.
Texas (36-11) started the scoring in the second, plating a run to take an early 1-0 lead. DJ Petrinsky and Murphy Stehly opened the frame with back-to-back singles and advanced on an Eric Kennedy sacrifice bunt.
