AUSTIN, Texas – Ivan Melendez hit a pair of two-run home runs to lead No. 4 Texas Baseball to a 9-2 win over Kansas State at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Sunday afternoon. Melendez has homered in a program-record six consecutive games, with seven total home runs over that stretch.
Kolby Kubichek (4-2) was solid on the hill, earning the win after pitching a career-high seven innings, allowing seven hits, one walk, one unearned run and striking out five.
Texas (25-8, 10-2) got the scoring started in the third, plating a pair of runs to give the Longhorns an early 2-0 lead.
