The final Big 12 regular-season series for Texas Longhorns baseball featured some fireworks in the ninth inning and a celebratory bubble-gum bath for hero Jalin Flores as the shortstop doubled home first baseman Jared Thomas to walk off the Kansas Jayhawks in a 5-4 win at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Thursday.
Heading into the bottom half of the ninth with the Longhorns leading 3-2, the game was suddenly in jeopardy when Texas right-handed closer Gage Boehm was unable to secure his eighth save of the season despite retiring the first five batters he faced.
