SAN MARCOS, Texas – Entering Texas' 1-0 victory at Texas State on Wednesday night, the Longhorns' freshman right-handed pitcher Teagan Kavan had reason to celebrate as it was her birthday. But following the game, she had another reason as the Iowa native tossed her second career seven-inning complete game shutout on just 94 pitches.

Since allowing two runs in a four-inning start against then-No. 9 Stanford on Friday, Feb. 16 in Clearwater, Kavan has made five appearances totaling 19.2 innings and has allowed just six hits, walked two, struck out 17 and allowed zero runs.
