AUSTIN, Texas — Senior Andrew Jones recorded a game-high 20 points, but No. 20/20 Texas (19-8, 8-6 Big 12) fell 61-55 against No. 11/11 Texas Tech (21-6, 10-4 Big 12) on Saturday afternoon before a sellout crowd at the Frank Erwin Center. The defeat snapped a three-game home winning streak against ranked teams by the Longhorns, as UT had defeated No. 18/20 Tennessee, No. 20/22 Iowa State and No. 8/8 Kansas.
Jones reached the 20-point mark for the second straight game and third time this season, converting 4-of-10 three-pointers and 4-of-5 free throws in 36 minutes.
