No. 20 Baseball drops Big 12 Tournament opener

ARLINGTON, Texas – No. 20 Texas Baseball lost to Kansas, 6-3, in the first game of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship on Wednesday at Globe Life Field.

The Longhorns (38-19) will look to stay alive in the tournament against Kansas State on Thursday at 9 a.m.

Lucas Gordon started and pitched five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits. He struck out five batters and did not factor in the decision. Travis Sthele pitched four innings of relief, giving up four runs and being charged with the loss.

Jack O'Dowd had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, driving in two of the Longhorns' three runs.
