AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Rowing's I Eight was named the Big 12 Conference Boat of the Week for the second-straight week, the league office announced on Wednesday. The Longhorns earned the weekly award after defeating No. 3 Virginia by 11.80 seconds and establishing a new course record of 6:15.20 at the Rivanna Reservoir in Earlysville, Virginia on Sunday.
"Our first eight took a big step this past weekend, and they had a great race against a quality opponent," said Texas head coach Dave O'Neill. "It's taken a lot of work, but there's still a long way to go.
