AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Baseball's Mike Antico has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week after the series win over West Virginia, the league office announced Monday.
Antico batted .500 (6-of-12) with two doubles and a home run during the series that clinched the Big 12 regular-season title for the Longhorns. The senior also stole a base to up his league lead to 25.
With the big weekend, Antico upped his season totals to a .262 batting average with 13 doubles, nine homers and 39 RBI.
The Longhorns turn their attention to the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship at Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
