AUSTIN, Texas – No. 19 Texas Baseball's Silas Ardoin has been named to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award watch list, The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced.
Ardoin, a redshirt freshman from Moss Bluff, La., has played in 12 games so far with 10 starts behind the plate. He is batting .243 with three doubles, seven RBI and four runs scored. Defensively Ardoin has not committed an error, while throwing out four base runners attempting to steal this season.
The watch list will be narrowed down to the semifinalists, whom will be announced May 20, 2021.
