No. 19 Baseball beats BYU in home opener

AUSTIN, Texas – Mike Antico hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give No. 19 Texas Baseball a 3-1 win over BYU in the home opener at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

The Longhorns (1-3) and Cougars (2-3) will square off again on Thursday at 1 p.m. The game time was moved up from the originally scheduled 6:30 p.m. start due to expected weather.

Cole Quintanilla picked up his first win of the season, pitching two innings and allowing just one run on two hits. Freshman Tanner Witt recorded his first career save, pitching a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout.
